Trips & Travel
The Bainbridge Island Senior Center trips and travel program is a fun way to explore our area! Please take a trip around the island or around the world with us. Here are some of our current programs, but to learn more call us at the Center – 206-842-1616.
Begin with lunch at the Rusty Tractor. Several wineries will be indoors at the fairgrounds in Elma for your tasting pleasure. Food booths will also be available. Entry fee and a free glass of wine are included in the cost of the trip.
Saturday, January 20, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm $55
A complete Shakespeare experience. Over four Thursdays in January read “Timon of Athens,” Shakespeare’s rarely staged tragedy: a soaring, poetic tale of a generous individual undone by false friendships. Then, meet a member of the Seattle Shakespeare Company before traveling to Seattle to see the performance at the Center House Theatre.
Sunday, February 4, 11:30 am – 5:30 pm, Fee $55 members, $75 non-members
Learn about the transformation of the cocoa fruit into chocolate, touching on the social and environmental issues relating to farming. Following that, we’ll take a guided walking tour through the facilities in Fremont to see “bean to bar” chocolate in the making. Samples will be offered.
Thursday, February 8, leave on the 9:40 am ferry, return no later than 3:00.
