Trips & Travel

The Bainbridge Island Senior Center trips and travel program is a fun way to explore our area! Please take a trip around the island or around the world with us. Here are some of our current programs, but to learn more call us at the Center – 206-842-1616.

Mount Rainier

Enjoy a beautiful time hiking, listening to the rangers, or maybe reading. Bring a sack lunch or eat launch at Paradise Lodge (cost on your own). Bring Senior Pass. FULL

Pot and Wine

Visit the B.A.R.N. (Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network), where we’ll get a look at all the activities that go on there and enjoy box lunches courtesy of Bainbridge Senior Living. Then depart for Paper & Leaf for an explanatory lecture about marijuana, featuring its uses for comfort and pain relief as well as intoxication. Afterward, enjoy a four-wine tasting tour of Bainbridge Winery, which is $5 additional.

Rainbow Bingo

We’re going to the West Seattle Senior Center to play Rainbow Bingo. If we get enough sign-ups, we’ll take the Senior Center bus. Otherwise, we’ll carpool.

Oktoberfest Northwest

Join the celebration in Puyallup with German Bier, brats, entertainment, games and more. We will go rain or shine because it is indoors.

Hurricane Ridge

Enjoy a scenic drive to Hurricane Ridge. Hike, enjoy wildflowers, attend ranger interpretive talks. Bring a sack lunch or eat from vending machines. Don’t forget your Senior Pass for National Parks

Transit Trek: Bloedel Reserve

Walk the bark-covered paths of this beautiful private estate. Halfway through the just under two miles is a meeting with the docent at the Visitors’ Center. The plan start from the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal and then return to Winslow for lunch at a downtown restaurant. If you are a Bloedel member, please bring your membership card. Bus is $1 (65+) or $2 each way. Admission fees to Bloedel are $6 – $17.

Lighted Boat Parade

Beautiful lighted boats, Father Christmas, shops open late for the holiday.

Winter Wine Festival

First enjoy lunch at the Rusty Tractor restaurant in Elma, Wash., and then off to the fairgrounds for tasting of a variety of regional wines.
