DESCRIPTION:Suzanne Granstrom\, RN\, FNC\, will talk about the idea of epig
 enetics\, the study of how your behaviors and environment can cause change
 s that affect the way your genes work. Unlike genetic changes\, epigenetic
  changes are reversible and do not change your DNA sequence\, but they can
  change how your body reads a DNA sequence.\n\nSuzanne has had a diverse c
 areer as a Registered Nurse\, working in Critical Care and Emergency setti
 ngs\, as a care manager in home care and private practice. She has also se
 rved as a staff educator in several health care settings. She learned earl
 y in her career that our lifestyle choices play a huge role in our health.
 \n\nShe developed and facilitated smoking cessations programs and taught A
 dvanced Cardiac Life Support\, CPR and First Aid classes in the communiti
 es she has called home.\n\nAll along the way\, Suzanne has explored nutrit
 ion and the impact of our food choices on our health and wellbeing.\n\nSuz
 anne values her experience in medicine and as a health educator and combin
 es these skills as an independent RN and a certified Functional Nutrition 
 Counselor. Her work is rooted in the philosophy that food is medicine and 
 what we eat can have a profound impact on our health. She empowers clients
