DESCRIPTION:THE LIFE IN YOUR YEARS\n\nAn Exploration of the Joys and Challe
 nges of Growing Older\n\nFebruary 6-March 20\nMondays 12:30 – 2:00 PM\n\
 nBainbridge Island Senior Community Center\n\nIn this free six-week worksh
 op\, participants will delve into the deeper dimensions of aging beyond th
 e physical\, including what it means to be an elder and what is involved i
 n a well-lived life. Through weekly short readings and discussions\, we wi
 ll examine the personal\, social\, and cultural aspects of getting older a
 nd our evolving notions of success and failure\; love and fear\; strength 
 and weakness\; and life and death. Together\, we will help each other rede
 fine our conceptions of age and elderhood.\n\nCOURSE DETAILS\n\nSessions w
 ill be held each Monday from 12:30 - 2:00 PM from February 6 through March
  20\, 2023. (There will be no session on President's Day\, Feb. 20.) The c
 ourse is limited to 10 participants.\nIf you are interested in participati

 d.\n\nFACILITATORS\n\nMarilyn Price-Mitchell\, PhD\, is a Fellow at the In
 stitute for Social Innovation at Fielding Graduate University. She is a ps
 ychologist\, researcher\, and author known internationally for her work in
  strength-based approaches to human development. Her research interests in
 clude positive aging\, youth development\, civic engagement\, and wellbein
 g.\n\nJana Mohr Lone\, PhD\, is an Affiliate Associate Professor of Philos
 ophy at the University of Washington. She is an author\, teacher\, and spe
 aker who has facilitated philosophical dialogues with children and adults 
 throughout the world. Her most recent research interest involves the relat
 ionship between the experiences of childhood and elderhood.
