DESCRIPTION:We’ll look at some examples of how attention to language and 
 naming is serious business. Streets\, buildings\, organizations are changi
 ng their names as an awareness of that earlier terms struck many listeners
  as insensitive or even cruel.  A new name for the Charles Wilkes Element
 ary School [x̌alilc (Halilts) Elementary] and a new name for the Washingt
 on Audubon Society [Nature Forward] followed awareness that their namesake
 s were white supremacists. We’ll talk about how using terms and phrases 
 like ‘chief\,’ ‘off the reservation\,’ or being ‘sold down the r
