BI Photo – December 2026
I have enjoyed nature photography since my days at Bainbridge High School, where I first discovered how a camera can turn a moment outdoors into something lasting. My first large, framed print came from my now museum worthy Pentax SP1000, capturing the brilliant golden subalpine larches in Washington’s Enchantments on a crisp fall morning. That was the inspiration that convinced me to keep carrying a camera.
Today I use a mirrorless Fujifilm X T30, a great lightweight choice for wandering trails, scrambling over rocks, and exploring wide landscapes. My photographs highlight recent travels through the wonderfully varied scenery of the western United States and Canada.
