In the event of a power outage during cold weather, the Warming Center will be open daily from 10 am to 5 pm. It is located in the Waterfront Park Community Center on Brien Drive. Staffing will be provided by American Red Cross trained volunteers. Should there be a prolonged outage, there is a possibility that it could be turned into a shelter, with overnight options.
Unfortunately pets cannot be accommodated due to the consideration of allergy issues for other attendees. You will have to find accommodations for your pets prior to coming to the Center.
If you cannot arrange your own transportation, help may be available through Island Volunteer Caregivers at 206-843-4441.
For information on the Warming Center’s operation during an outage, you can contact the Kitsap County Office of Emergency Management at 360-307-5872 or call 206-842-1616 for a recorded message.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at the warming center, please contact the American Red Cross for training.
