I became interested in photography as a hobby four years ago. I had just retired from a career in nursing, so this seemed like the perfect time to dive into a new hobby. I had always enjoyed taking snapshots but really had no knowledge of camera settings, editing software or the artistic elements that are involved in creating a photograph. I joined the BI Photo Club shortly after I purchased my first “real camera” which was a great source for learning, sharing and inspiration.
Being an outdoor enthusiast, I am drawn to landscape and nature images, but I also enjoy portrait photography and recently led a virtual class on this topic for our photo club.
One of my favorite landscape subjects is trees and I have put together a collection of some of my favorites. Some of you may have seen some of my other landscapes along with works by other BI Photo Club members that were on display as prints in the lobby of the Senior Center. This was pre-COVID of course.
Many thanks to Reed and the Bainbridge Island Senior Center for making this alternative option for sharing available during this pandemic.
