Civil Liberties Symposium
The Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial Association is hosting a plenary featuring three attorneys who made legal history by overturning the World War Two convictions of Gordon Hirabayashi, Fred Korematsu, and Minoru Yasui. This event, On Sunday Oct. 5, at 2 pm at the the Rowing Center, is not only a look back — but a look forward to current assaults on immigrants, equal protection, and what it means to be an American. Ellen Sato Faust, the executive director of BIJAEMA, will join us on Zoom. Here’s the link for the time of the podcast: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/82524617784?pwd=NXVVeExscTdpd3ZlY05uTEdvaVNuUT09
