Climate Commitment Act Repeal Effort

Initiative 2117 is getting a lot of attention. It’s the effort to repeal the Climate Commitment Act and prohibit what’s called carbon credit tax trading. This measure was enacted to fight greenhouse gas emissions.

Money raised through the act must be spent to cut pollution, create jobs and help communities respond to climate change. Initiative sponsor Let’s Go Washington says the cost of measure is too high and it’s not an effective way to fight greenhouse gases.
