Dave’s Brain Box

Joel Sackett shares photos and stories from his new book, “Dave’s Brain Box,” a project to honor Dave Ullin. Ullin lived in Eagle Harbor aboard his tug “Spruce,” and his tall, sturdy frame and determined walk was well-known around town. He died in 2017. In the forward, Joel credits a long list of islanders for inspiring and supporting the 120 page photography book, which is focused around images of the handwritten observations, quotes, and references that Ullin kept in a plastic filing box and carried around in his always-present canvas bag.
