John Van Dyke, a native Seattleite, was so bemused by the tenor of our nation’s politics in 2016—and had enough time and resources available—that he set out on an adventure to connect with America. He’s shared some of his experiences and insights in a self-published book (“Boom: It’s a Big Country for an Old Man”) and some podcasts.
