On Monday, June 2, at 1:30 pm on Zoom, we will discuss Timothy Snyder’s short book “On Tyranny.” John Lithgow reads an excerpt — 20 Lessons on Tyranny — in the video clip above. You’re invited to watch this in advance of the discussion.

Snyder is a historian with an expertise of the Holocaust. In his books Bloodlands and Black Earth, he has carefully dissected the events and values that enabled the rise of Hitler and Stalin and the execution of their catastrophic policies.

We’ll review the 20 Lessons, invite you to share your observations and examples that relate to the book, and talk about how we can learn from the experiences of others.
