Format: Hybrid, 1:30pm @ Senior Center/Zoom https://us06web.zoom.us/j/82524617784?pwd=NXVVeExscTdpd3ZlY05uTEdvaVNuUT09
The third section of Braiding Sweetgrass, “Picking Sweetgrass,” includes six essays with common themes, including reciprocity and sustainability, connection and disconnection from nature, consumerism vs the goals of the honorable harvest, oblivious taking vs grateful exchange.

Questions to ponder:

Have you ever grown beans from seed? How did having grad students touch and examine growing plants change their connection to/view of natural world? Yours?

How do you respond to the concept that when we love the land, the land loves us back?

Like corn, beans and squash, sweetgrass may now be dependent on human interactions to thrive. Is that an example of a healthy interaction?

There are still books and audiobooks available from the library. You don’t have to have read the book in whole or at all to participate. Participants can ask or answer questions, make observations, or simply listen.
