Planned Giving
Planned giving generally involves one of three gifting methods—current outright gifts, expectancies (future gifts), and deferred gifts. A common misconception is that all planned gifts are “deferred gifts.” Some planned gifts are structured to provide immediate benefits to the nonprofit organization, others provide deferred benefits to the organization, and still others may involve a combination of methods.
How to help even more!
- Donate stocks or other appreciated assets, avoiding capital gains taxes.
- Donate a portion of your IRA, thus avoiding taxes on the withdrawal.
- Participate in the BISCC endowment through a single gift or recurring annual gifts.
- Include the Senior Center in your will (a bequest). Please let us know so we can add you to our legacy circle.
- Make sure your family knows you want to designate the Senior Center for Memorial Contributions.
- If you know of a foundation, let the BISCC Treasurer know and we — with you — can ask for a grant from them.
Bainbridge Island Senior/Community Center does not provide legal or tax advice. All donors should consult their tax advisors to properly determine the tax consequences of making a charitable gift.
